Mason’s practice is one of the most varied in the state. His goal in every case is to effectively advocate for the firm’s clients using a practical approach guided by relentless preparation and trial experience.  Mason’s first priority is putting the client’s needs first and taking the necessary steps to obtain the best result. “Actively listening to the client, being able to grasp all of the issues, communicating options clearly and having the ability to effectively advocate in writing and oral argument is essential in every area of my practice.”

Mason routinely handles a variety of matters in the following areas: civil litigation, probates and estate litigation, family, real estate, oil and gas, criminal, wills and trusts, business law, commercial litigation and arbitration, banking, condemnation, and personal injury.  Mason is also a TMCA Credentialed Advanced Mediator, having successfully mediated well over one hundred cases across Texas since becoming credentialed.

Mason has served as General Counsel for the City of Jacksboro and as General Counsel for the Jack County Hospital District since 2016. Mason currently serves as Vice President of the Jacksboro ISD Board of Trustees, and he is a past President of the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce. Mason is a member of the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas for his contributions to low-income Texans, and he is a member of the Texas Bar College, an honorary society of lawyers who are among the best trained attorneys in Texas.  He and the firm have also been voted Best Attorney and Best Law Firm in Jack County in the Jacksboro Herald-Gazette for a number of years.

Mason’s wife, Alex, teaches first grade at Jacksboro Elementary School. Mason and Alex are members of the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro. Mason and Alex have two children, John Shepherd Spiller and Caroline Sloane Spiller.
